Ginger Stovall Christian was "fourth born" of Brad and Audrey Stovall's five children. A farmer's daughter, I have many memories of working and playing in the cotton fields and of helping
my dad milk the cows and feed the chickens. Mother's house, a "school" in itself, was always busy with canning, sewing, quilting, and all sorts of other projects to keep everyone very busy. We attended Morton High School during the week
and spent our "Saturdays" getting ready for Sunday when relatives and friends came to visit on Sunday afternoon.
School in Morton was a chain of wonderful memories. I had many fine teachers who took time with their students. I was in band and Future Homemakers of America. I played basketball, was a cheerleader and was on the annual
staff. In the fall of 1960, I met Dick Christian and we married in the spring of 1961.
Dick Christian and his family moved to Morton in the spring of 1956 from Lubbock. Dick's father, H. M. Christian, managed the Ben Franklin store in Morton. Dick graduated from Morton High in 1959 and attended N.T.S.U. in 1959 and 1960.
Dick and I moved to Dallas after we married where he was already working for Tom Thumb Stores, Inc. Dick spent seventeen years working with Tom Thumb Stores and became director of purchasing in 1969. During his climb
up the ladder at Tom Thumb, I worked at a Tom Thumb store and as an office assistant for Dr. Edward R. Hoffman in Garland, Texas. Currently, I am managing Connell Office Supply Co. of Dallas. In 1978, Dick began selling imported
products. Now Dick, his twin brother Bob, and their younger brother Jerry own and manage an import compnay, Aimtree International, Inc. Aimtree International imports shoes, boots, and atheltic shoes from the Orient. When Dick
is not travelling in the United States or the Orient, he and I enjoy our children and grandchildren.
Dick and I have four children; Richard, Bradley, Patrick, and Michelle. Richard, just recently out of the Air Force National Guard, works for Garland Camera and is married to Lisa.
Bradley works for his father's college and cooking at "On the Border" Cafe.
Michelle is finishing her sophomore year at South Garland High School. We have three grandchildren, Rachael, Richard (Trey), and Katherine.
We have spent the past twenty-six years in the Dallas area and thelast sixteen years in Garland. We both feel strongly about our West Texas roots and especially our Morton roots. Many of our fondest memories are of
friend from Morton, Texas
We have both been saddended by the deaths of our fathers, Brad Stovall and H. M. Christian. We miss them sorely. Audrey Stovall and Gwen Christian still enrich our lives and we are thankfuly for them.
My younger sister Brenda lives in Dallas. We are best of friends. Brenda married Ronnie Ragsdale in 1969. She has one son, Mitchell. Mitchell was a small baby when his parents divorced. He is now eighteen years old and works
at Target. Brenda has worked for Tom Thumb for over fifteen years. She was given a special award foor good service and a ruby and a diamond. She is getting married to Ted Drier.
