Cochran County, Texas
The settling of West Texas, Cochran County was made up in part of hardy Oklahomans. Members of a family came out to work, usually to pull cotton. They would stay together and encourage
other family members and friends to come to the beautiful plains of West Texas. Herman Enos was the fourth member of his family to move to Morton. Two brothers and a sister had moved here in the forties.
Herman, a native Texas, was born in Alvord, Texas May 2, 1915; the oldest son of Mike and Sadie (Drumgould) Enos. Dorothy Nix, second child of Lonzo and Emma (Bussey) Nix was born on September 7, 1920 in Ryan, Oklahoma.

of their belongings.
Herman rented a house from Glenn Thompson and settled his family. The house was on the site of the present day county county swimming pool. Herman went to work immediately in Ted Wallaces Welding Shop for a few months.

Chambers, enlarging the building for parts and farm supplies.
