Cochran County, Texas
"Book" was born February 9, 1903 in Jayton, Kent County, Texas to F. O. and Alice Taylor. The family farmed for many years in Kent County. He was the 3rd child of eleven children. He attended the Antelope
School in Kent County.
Lucille Polk was born June 30, 1910 in Wortham, Texas to Oscar Polk and Ellen Smith Polk. She was the 2nd child of four daughters. The Polk family moved from Wortham to Post in 1920.
Book and Lucille were married Febraury 20, 1920 in Dickens, Texas. They lived on a farm near Post until December 1936 when they moved to Cochran County, four miles east of Morton. In 1942, they moved 6 miles southeast of Morton, where they still have the farm.
They Taylor children attended Morton schools for five years. After moving in 1942, they went to school in Whiteface, where they all graduated. The children are: Wade Taylor, who lives in Whiteface, Billie Fay Minyard, who passed away
in 1984, Helen Walker, who lives in Kermit, Texas and Floyd Taylor, who lives east of Morton. The Taylors also have eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Book passed away February 7, 1979 and is buried in the Morton Cemetery.
