Star Route
The community of Star Route is located approximately six miles west of Morton on the Portales Highway and is named after the rural mail route on which it is located.
A grocery store and service station, along with a few cabins, were built at the crossroads in 1936 by J. T. Kelly. The following year, in 1937, W. J. Weaks built a cotton gin near the store.
