Cochran County, Texas
The community of Star Route is located approximately six miles west of Morton on the Portales Highway and is named after the rural mail route it is on.
A grocery store/service station, along with a few cabins, were built at the crossroads there in 1936 by J. T. Kelly. The following year, 1937, W. J. Weaks built a gin near store.
